SOMA PSYCHOLOGY

Ilse is a registered Clinical Psychologist with a passion for assisting clients to develop their self-worth, improve their relationships, and regain a sense of choice and direction in their lives.

​

Ilse works with people from all walks of life and has experience in the treating anxiety, depression, anger, addictions, trauma, and functional neurological disorders. She can assist people to manage feelings related to isolation, feeling stuck, relationship difficulties, and general life stress.

​

Ilse has undergone training in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) a specialised therapy for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), including single incident trauma as well as more complex trauma related issues. 

​

Ilse works primarily works with adults. She can offer short-term and longer-term therapy options based on client need.

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

Providing therapy drawing on emotional and somatic focused interventions particularly Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Therapy (ISTDP), as well as other psychodynamic, and cognitive and behavioural principles.

Ilse provides therapy for adolescents and adults to managing a range of emotional and psychological concerns, including those who are interested in understanding themselves and the unique ways they have coped with challenges in their life. 

​

Ilse is also trained in EMDR and will use this in discussion with the client.

CLINCAL SUPERVISION

Ilse has completed the Supervisor Training and Accredited Program (STAP) and is an approved supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia.

​

She is able to provide general supervision as well as supervision for students on the  following pathways: 5 + 1 Internship Program​ and the Clinical Psychology Registrar Program.

​

Her supervision framework is based on providing a supportive, safe and non-judgemental space for supervisees to reflect on their practice.
